Meeting Format
During the first segment we hear speeches that have been prepared according to the guidelines found in either the Basic Communication and Leadership Manual or the Advanced Toastmaster's Manual. Time frames for the speeches range from 5 to 7 minutes or may go up to 10 minutes depending on the speaker's project and the manual being used.
The second segment of the program, called Table Topics, gives all of us an opportunity to do some impromptu speaking. The Table Topics Master will give us an interesting topic that we will talk about from one to two minutes. By the way, we encourage all of our guests to participate.
In part three of the meeting, a fellow Toastmaster will evaluate each prepared speech. The Chief Evaluator for the day's program will give you more specific information. Also during this portion, our designated Grammarian will make note of any grammatical errors for us to improve upon and the Timer will let us know if the prepared speeches, the impromptu talks and the evaluations met the required time frames.
